Marcus Coates

After studying media and creative writing, with a specialized focus on screenwriting, I commenced postgraduate studies in Languages and Literature, analyzing how the vampire genre reinvents itself for new audiences. For my second MA, this time in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (TESOL), I investigated how usage-based methodologies can be utilized to assist student learning. I consider myself a life-long learner with a passion for research and writing creatively using a variety of mediums.

For the last fifteen years, I've been based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and currently work as the manager of a training design, development & testing department on an airbase. I work on a range of projects, such as producing instructional materials, authoring online content, designing test materials, and drafting policy documentation.

In case you're wondering - the term 'Mindful Content', that I collect my writing under, is for me, a reminder to strive to learn and develop my creative, academic and business style and voice, and also to approach every challenge I come across as an opportunity to grow and develop as a writer and writing community member.
